Passionate Book Divas is just not another blog, is a link between friendship across continents and overseas. We are a bunch of people with something big in common, our passion for books.

This passion was the catalyst that drove us together and the result is this space, where we share our love for reading with you and everyone that wants to be a part of our craziness and mischief.

This blog represents our friendship and that books can and will join people that would never have met if not for a book that drove us to search for more…

Here is a little something about us.

 

I am a mother of two boys (angels when they’re good and spawns of Satan himself when they are bad), full-time church secretary and avid reader. Don’t let the church secretary thing fool you; it takes a special ‘breed’ of secretary to bring books like Succubus on Top to read on lunch break at work. I practically live and breathe books; too bad reading is not a cardio action in and of itself. If I could sustain my life on just reading, I would live forever. I’m just so glad I’ve found the other Divas and John to share the love!

I was not born in TX, but got here as quickly as I could (still Southern by the grace of God). I’m weird, and proud of it (keep Austin weird!) I love urban fantasy and paranormal romance both adult and YA. As early as elementary school I can remember getting in trouble for reading with a flashlight under the covers in bed. I then moved into younger romance and mystery (Sweet Valley High and Nancy Drew) until finally reaching horror. I LOVE horror: Anne Rice, Stephen King, Peter Straub, Dean Koontz… until I stumbled across the likes of LJ Smith, Laurell Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, and Jim Butcher… That’s just a few off the top of my head, and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been devouring every urban and/or dark fantasy I could get my hands on from my local library. Then another favorite Indie author, PA Lupton turned me on to Jeanine Frost. Why I hadn’t read it before, I’ll never know. PA turned me into another Bones groupie, and further expanded my reading repertoire with Fifty Shades of Grey. Now, I’m like a woman possessed rabidly grabbing up books to read and review.

I have a large collection of useless information… it goes with my growing mountain of to-be-read books, and my even larger collection of free eBooks from Amazon. Once a friend from Goodreads “enabled” me by giving me a Kindle, I was a goner. Yes, it’s a sickness; yes, I’m addicted and NO, I don’t want a cure! Give me eBooks or give me death! Well, maybe not death… but luckily there are plenty of eBooks out there for me. Oh, and I cannot leave off my new duties as #1 John Corwin Book Pimp. Yeah, that’s the way I roll, y’all!

I am happily married to my best friend for 8 years, been together 12.

I am a passionate reader, I do not write, wish I could but it is not me. But my passion lies in helping Authors with whatever they need, it is what I love to do and that’s how shareAread was born. I own a web development company with my husband and shareAread is MY baby and brain child. I work with Authors in Public relations.

I am a passionate person by nature and sometimes I believe my brain will explode with ideas. I love books obsessively and have a little OCD (ok allot) but won’t allow it to interfere with my life. Although I am pretty sure my husband would say that is a lie! I just don’t like to start anything I can’t finish and any project I’m involved in has to be as close to perfect as my ability will allow. I am a bit bi-polar. I love everything from Bocelli, country, to obscure rock, punk, and rap. Plus the mainstream stuff too. There are so many books I LOVE that I have a hard time naming just a few. But I read Paranormal mostly, but also YA, PNR, and Erotic.

Religion and culture fascinates me and I am constantly asking questions of friends that are devout in their beliefs.

Movies are great as well, I love family movie night with my boys, Watching comedy, suspense, or action flicks with my Hubby, or watching romantic comedies with him (he will admit that too) or just by myself with a little ice cream or chocolate.

I am happy and easy going by nature and it takes allot to make me mad but once I am there my husband says “some-one has released the Kracken”. Don’t ever mess with my kids or you will meet my baseball bat

I believe in random acts of kindness and coexisting.

My husband says there was a mix up when I was made and I was made with a male brain. Loving sports is just one of many reasons.

I´m 29 years old, Mexican, I was born and raised in Tabasco we just have one season here, hot as hell but I love it and wouldn´t change it for anything.

Mother of a two year old that has my full and devoted attention during the day, but at night I morph into Book Addict.

My mother gave me my first book (Shakespeare´s Hamlet) and that was it for me LOL!!!

If I’m not reading peacefully at home I’m working/reading with my kindle hidden among folders; there´s nothing better than to lay on my huge reading couch with a cup of coffee and my kindle.

My passion is Paranormal Romance, and my Supernatural beings of choice are of course Vampires; I love to read, I’m a sucker for the Dark and dangerous anti-heroes type.

A book needs to grab me from the first couple of pages or I won’t bother at all.  I hate to do bad reviews, but if I don’t like a book I Always contact the author or whoever send it for me to review with my honest opinion about it and give them the option of not have that review posted.

I always write honest reviews no matter what.

I work at the Ministry of Health of my State as a PR and I love my job.

Love animals, I have two dogs a Labrador and a Boxer and they own the House, my fav. food is Italian.

My fav. sport is soccer but I’ve never played, I used to be a Folklore Dancer at the State Company, danced for 19 years.

I loved to watch X files and Roswell, so yeah I do believe “The truth is out there” and “I want to believe” there is life outside of earth, if not what an effing waste of space LOL!!!!

I’m married with three kids, two girls and a wild little man.

Although math is my passion reading has been with me all my life. I love to be absorbed in a book to find adventure I will never see. I want to be swept away from real life while reading a good book.

Being very analytical by nature, my first love in reading is crime/mystery/police procedurals from the likes of authors such as John Grisham, Patricia Cornwell, Sue Graton, Mary Higgins Clark, Sidney Sheldon, J.D. Robb, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. However I will read most anything except non-fiction. I really love young adult, dystopian, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, m/m and erotica. But I will also read science fiction and horror.

Being a bit weird myself, I would categorize myself as a tom boy by day and a girly girl at night. I love pink and Barbie, but I also love fast cars and football.

I adore music. My tastes are eclectic which include artist from all genres such as Dido, Enya, Mozart, 30 Seconds to Mars, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Lady Antebellum, Linkin Park, Sade, OneRepulic, Smashing Pumpkins just to name a few.

I believe in karma (what goes around comes around), so I try my best to do the right thing and get along with everyone. But I am human and therefore fallible by nature. I’m very opinionated, so writing and talking about books just fits. I try my best to be honest in reviews because it doesn’t do anyone any good to do otherwise. I certainly don’t want to be mean, therefore I try my best to give constructive criticism where need be.

I’m creative and fun-loving on one side and introverted on the other. If I know you I’m outspoken, loud, and snarky; if I don’t know you I’m pretty quiet and polite. I’m just like every other person out there in the wonderfully wide world.

I married my high school sweetheart, and let’s get it out of the way, go ahead Awww away… believe me, I got lucky! He puts up with my randomness and general craziness! We have been together for 10 years, married for 6. We have a lovely little monster now, he is 3 years old… before we had Monster we had 4 dogs… and now we are stuck with the dogs who play and chase our 3 year old.

I like to go fast… in cars, on ATVs, in Dune Buggies, pretty much anything I’m game for – as long as I’m in control of the fast moving vehicle! I’m not a good passenger. Before we had our son, my husband and I both used to race Motocross on ATVs (Honda 450Rs), but now that we have our son we only play on them – less dangerous, more responsible… most days!

On to the books! I love to read and have for as long as I can remember… I will give anything a try and I’m willing to pick up anything and read it. I love to read Adult and Y/A books in PRN, UF, Contemporary, Dystopian, & Romance. Those are my favorites, but like I said, I will read dang near anything at least once! Some of my favorite authors include M.R. Merrick, Jennifer L. Armentrout, James Patterson, E.L. James, and Kate Douglas… I love to get lost in a book – I love to feel the emotions the characters feel – I love to feel that I have a vested interest in what happens in stories and to characters. I love a book that can make you care so much you don’t want to read what happens yet at the same time you can’t stop yourself from reading to find out what happens! I just love books so much and I’m completely in awe that authors can create a world and characters.

I love music just as much as I love books… I am always listening to something. I love pretty much everything except Metal, but even some of that I like… so you know – I am not picky as long as it has good music or great lyrics, I’m there and enjoying it!

I am the insane mother of 5 mischievous toddler to teen kids. Two I inherited with marriage and love like my own and have had the privilege of helping to raise since they live with us, Austin 16 and Katy 12. Then there is my own personal spawn: Jacob 5, Gabriel 3, and Sophia 2. My loving husband and I have been together for 11 years and married 9 of those.

I’m a painfully shy person if I don’t know you, but once I do, you will have the advantage of getting to know someone who is quirky, sarcastic, and vivacious. I am exceedingly loyal to my friends and family since I cherish both. They put up with me =)

Love music! Pretty eclectic in my tastes, just to name a few…Billie Holiday, Brad Paisley, Metallica, Foster the People, Tori Amos, Adele, AWOL Nation, Matt & Kim, Muse, Rhianna, P!NK, Bon Iver, Mona, Beck, Florence and the Machine, Lady GaGa, LMFAO, Abney Park, Emilie Autumn, Band of Skulls…OK I have so many more, but that would take too long to list. I’m a voracious reader and very protective of my nook and kindle. Eclectic in my tastes for reading as well, although I LOVE my vamps, Huge, Huge fan of Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series and of course Anne Rice. I like PNR, Horror, Historical Romance, Romance, Steam Punk, Paranormal, Hauntings, Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin(I know they are characters, but I’m not a huge fan of detective novels), Forensic Thrillers, Etc. Not a whole lot that I won’t give a chance if it sounds interesting.
I’m hoping against hope that they do not make a series or motion picture of Stephen King’s Gunslinger series. I’m afraid nothing will ever measure up to the books and they will just besmirch it.

Last but not least, a zealot of John’s butt modeling and fabulously sexy legs.

I’m Midhat and I love to read (obviously). I’m working on a PhD. in Botany and work as a Research Associate. I’m a Gemini. My favorite genre is Urban Fantasy and I love kick ass heroines who not only save the day but can smart mouth while doing that. So, the Kate Daniels, Mercedes Thompson and Parasol Protectorate series are my absolute faves. Other than UF, Murder Mysteries sound awesome to me. Female authors like Minette Walters and Patricia Cornwell rock while Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie are tenets of the Mystery genre. Then of course, there’s Georgette Heyer-the queen of Regency Romances. I’m slowly falling in love with Steampunk too and hope to court it for a long long time. Epic Fantasy series, like the Malazan Book of the Fallen, Wheel of Time, Tamora Pierce’s books have only got me addicted to what Lord of the Rings and Narnia started. Of course, my love for classic writers like Jane Austen, Bronte sisters, Wilkie Collins, Thomas Hardy is everlasting.
One thing, I can assure you of is that when I read your book, I’ll write an honest review about it! So, bring it on.

 

Hello my name is Tana and first I will say thank you for taking the time to read About Me!

Let’s see what I can tell you, I live in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada and It’s probably not a shocker to say my passion is reading, I love to read anything paranormal, but of course I read many other types of books, mystery, romance, true stories, murder, anything YA and one of my favorites is the m/m romance genre. They also have some great paranormal reads and full of very sexy men. I pretty much read anything besides historical and heavy science fiction novels.

When I am not sleeping I am working or reading, I spend a lot of time on my blog trying to figure out how to post things on different pages and cursing as I still can’t make it work. I have some pretty major addictions one of course is reading, the other is coffee. I must admit that I also tend to buy purses and shoes but at this point I won’t say they are addictions because really one can never have enough shoes or purses. Oh and did I mention I like gadgets…ipod, ipad, blackberry playbook and for some reason I have two lap tops sitting here in front of me just in case one dies I have a spare. I also just bought this little black box that is supposed to project whatever is on my laptop to my tv screen. (I have no idea why I would need this).

I listen to a variety of different types of music, from Patsy Cline to Pink to Adele. I also love ACDC to Buddy Holly sometimes I even listen to my mom’s favorite musician Elvis.

I have a hard time saying no so as long as your novel looks interesting I will read it. I have a great sense of humor, I am honest sometimes a bit sassy and I love to joke around with my friends. I will always write an honest review and if I have questions or concerns I will contact you first.

Other than that I am told I am a good friend and I have always believed that every person should be treated with respect, I am open minded, non-judgmental and generous. If you need my broom I will give it to you. That’s me in a nut shell or maybe peanut shell how about almonds do they have shells? Oh did I mention I have ADD and sometimes I am easily distracted. LOL

 

John has been an avid book reader all his life. Although any genre is fair game, he prefers the urban fantasy and paranormal genres, including PNR.

In addition to his serious responsibilities as a part-time ass model, John finds time to write novels of his own and was excited to join this elite team of smoking hot divas in their quest to shake up the book blog world
